Rescue Mission Food Drive

Food Sorting

No Weekends or Evenings

Water Street is expecting to receive over 120,000 pounds of donated food through the Rescue Mission Food Drive. Volunteers are needed to sort the donated food in the months of November and December. This food will help feed the hungry in Lancaster County during the holidays and into the New Year. If you or a group are able to volunteer please email our Volunteer Coordinator, Nichole Mobley, nmobley@wsm.org or call (717) 358-2040 . She will need to know how many people will volunteer, the day and times you are available, your full name and the best way to contact you.

About: Are you interested in guiding our guests as they journey on a path to a renewed lifestyle? We are seeking volunteers to proofread resumes and cover letters, assist with online navigation and job hunting, and online job applications. Consider becoming a career tutor in the Career and Learning Center and see first hand how someone ends homelessness! Our new Career and Learning Center is partnering with CareerLink to offer career seminars for our residents and guests. Outside of the class, guests will be developing their own resume and cover letters. We need career tutors to come alongside our guests as they work on these. In addition, you will help our guests as they job search and apply to open positions. As some of our guests have little to no computer training, you may also be helping them learn to use a computer and the internet. Come encourage lasting change as our residents move from homelessness to hope.
