If you are a Lancaster County resident experiencing homelessness and need help, call our Access Center at (717) 358-2030.
When a person experiencing homelessness comes to our Access Center and is seeking help, we connect them with a Case Manager and Social Worker who will talk with them to assess the next best step while with us.
A Life Coach teams up with the person as an accountability partner in reaching goals. Once a guest is admitted to our Providence Shelter, they can stay for 90 days, with the option to transition into the Residential Program once their time at Providence Shelter is completed. Both the shelter and residential tracks give access to all services at Water Street and with our community partners.
In addition to shelter and residential programs, Water Street provides weekly food distribution to families in need in our community, medical, behavioral health, and dental services, and programming for young children, youth, and young adults.
Water Street is guided by the mission that Jesus declared in Luke chapter 4, quoting Isaiah 61. As Jesus said, we strive to come alongside each individual to share hope and good news and meet the needs of those experiencing some of the most difficult life challenges, including poverty and homelessness.
As we fulfill this mission inspired and guided by Christ, we remain committed to serving any individual in need without regard to race, color, sex, national origin, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
