Services To Those Experiencing Homelessness

Much More Than Shelter

When a person experiencing homelessness comes to our Access Center and is seeking help, we connect them with a Case Manager and Social Worker who will talk with them to assess the next best step while with us.

A Life Coach teams up with the person as an accountability partner in reaching goals. The individual then embarks on a personalized Shelter Track or Residential Track based on those goals.  Both tracks give access to all services at Water Street and with our community partners. We provide

  • Safe shelter
  • Meals three times a day
  • Counseling and case management
  • Referrals to community services for financial, job, and housing needs
  • Recovery groups and parenting classes
  • Devotions, chapel services, and group prayer sessions
  • Free dental care
  • Free medical and behavioral health support

Other Services and Who We Take In

Caring For Those In Need

In addition to shelter and residential programs, Water Street provides weekly food distribution to families in need in our community, medical, behavioral health, and dental services, and programming for young children (Wonder Academy) and youth (Teen Haven).

Water Street is guided by the mission that Jesus declared in Luke chapter 4, quoting Isaiah 61. As Jesus said, we strive to come alongside each individual to share hope and good news and meet the needs of those experiencing some of the most difficult life challenges, including poverty and homelessness.

As we fulfill this mission inspired and guided by Christ, we remain committed to serving any individual in need without regard to race, color, sex, national origin, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

"I didn’t know God would answer my prayer through the Water Street Mission...It’s always good to be open”.
Deanna, Water Street Guest
