Dining Hall

We serve about 400 meals every day, and are grateful to our volunteers who join our staff to make that happen! This is a great opportunity for individuals, or for groups of 2-8 people.

We have a fully operational kitchen and dining facility that serves 3 meals a day to our guests and staff (only breakfast and dinner served on Sundays). Volunteers who sign up to serve during a meal shift may be asked to assist with bussing tables, serving food on the line, simple food preparation (i.e. cutting fruit and vegetables, etc.), cleaning, or may be asked to assist with other kitchen tasks, depending on where help is needed most that day.

Behind-the-scenes opportunities (such as simple food preparation or cleaning/organizing) are also available between meal shifts.

WHAT TO WEAR
Thank you for helping us keep a safe work environment by following the Water Street Mission Dress Code:

  • Please wear closed-toed shoes (sneakers are great!). For safety purposes, flip flops, sandals and high heels are not permitted.
  • Please wear a shirt that covers your shoulders. Thank you for not wearing tank tops or tops with spaghetti straps.

For safety purposes, please refrain from using cell phones or wearing headphones while volunteering.
