Jesselys Gives Her Heart to Jesus

He was nice and he was kind.” says Jesselys, describing Jesus. “He loves everyone.” This Spring, one of our Wonder Academy Students decided to give her heart to Christ. At just five years old, Jesselys told her teacher she was ready and went home to pray with her mother and father. “And then I went to bed and then Jesus came down and went into my heart.” she says.

Wonder Academy is Water Street’s private Christian school for Pre-K and Kindergarten. They offer an affordable education that gets kids prepared for a strong academic future while also inspiring a love of God through bible stories and more.

“He was nice and he was kind.” says Jesselys, describing Jesus. “He loves everyone.”…“And then I went to bed and then Jesus came down and went into my heart.” she says.”

Just this year, Jesselys memorized a whole verse, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone opens the door, I will come in and share a meal with him as friends.” she says by heart.

Now that she has given her heart to Jesus, she is sure to include His name, written on her heart in her own self-portraits. She loves sharing how it made her happy to be friends with Jesus with her teacher and fellow students. “I tell Ms. Nikki and I tell all my friends,” she says proudly. Her mom says she even shares with her little brother, encouraging him that Jesus is still alive.

Hearing a student choose to give her life to Christ, is a powerful reminder of the foundation that Wonder Academy gets to help form for its students. We’re so overjoyed by the impact God is making in these young one’s lives and grateful to each of you for helping fill her and the rest of our Wonder Academy students with Christ’s love!
